Daniel Reynolds - Sculpture and Studio Ceramics
A love of clean, modernist lines is a point of departure for Daniel Reynolds' work in abstract sculpture and ceramics.
His gently rotating Mobile Sculptures interact with light and space to create a calm, airy beauty, reminiscent of the best of twentieth century modernism. Daniel's further exploration of line has led to a recent series of sculptures in stoneware, with editions in bronze, entitled 'Grid and Rope Abstractions'. These 'draw' lines in three dimensions, resulting in abstract structures where light and space are major players.
His studio ceramics production centres around large hand built vessels in stoneware, whose shapes and volumes are designed to emanate a combination of strength and calm.
Reynolds has exhibited at the Museum of Arts and Design in New York. His work forms part of the Patricia Phelps Cisneros Collection, New York. He has undertaken site-specific commission work for boutique hotels and private residences around the world including London, Tokyo, the Caribbean, Melbourne, Verbier, the Maldives, Caracas and New York.
